Sandra Tavares Da Silva & Jorge Serôdio Borges began their venture in 2001. To begin with, this young couple had no vineyards and no wine but they shared a dream, a personal project to which they have devoted themselves body and soul.

The name Wine & Soul is the product of their passion and total commitment to wine. From inception, they have focused on a tireless search for exceptional vines in the Pinhão valley – the historical heart of the great Port wines – giving these vines a voice and expression through their wines.

Their first creation was a wine called “Pintas” named after their dog. What was initially a garage wine is today a reflection of Douro history and tradition, using grapes from old vines of more than 30 mixed grape varieties.

Wine & Soul has become the image of the modern Douro focusing on single vineyards production in which each wine assumes its own identity, reflecting the vineyard that gave birth to it. Year after year, the intimate knowledge of each parcel is deepened and the vinification process is perfected in detail achieving a standard of unique quality.

Sandra and Jorge believe in the power of the alliance between Port and Douro wines, and this is the focus of their work. Today, Wine & Soul and its wines are living proof that the traditional vineyards where the great vintage Ports are made are equally capable of producing great Douro wines.
