“Região de Lisboa” is , one of the oldest wine regions of Portugal. It was previously known as ‘Região da Estremadura”.
It is still one of the undiscovered gems of Portugal for wine lovers.
The intense humidity in both spring and summer is the main factor to produce “light wines” also known as “Vinho Leve” which is generally a low alcohol wine.
The Portuguese in this region are “Master Blenders” known for their skill of blending several grape varieties of the 250+ indigenous varieties to produce delicious premium blends
Wines are generally well balanced with fruity aromas.
Main white varietals: Arinto, Fernão Pires, Malvasia fina & Viosinho.
Red varietals: Castelão, Trincadeira , Touriga nacional, Aragonês (AKA Tinta Roriz) & International grape varieties
