This wine is macerated for 10 days, cold soaked to maximize aromatic extraction. Wild yeast fermentation in stainless fermentation vats, then aged for 26 months in 5th and 6th use large format French oak. Fined and filtered.

Castro says Casa ‘has a more compact soil with some clay besides the granite, the intense presence of rose/white quartz and the one that has more sun hours per day. Mata has less clay and more granitic sand.
The vines are 60-75 years old.
The viticultural year 2015 in Dão was marked by a drier winter than in the previous year and the rain in early spring allowed to obtain some water reserves in the soil that supported the plant during the dry months of spring and summer. Being an early year, in July the vine was already in the verison phase and the harvest began one week earlier than the previous year.
