Exploring Portuguese wines is a new journey. Many of the grapes are unfamiliar to what we are more used to and this makes choosing a wine a little more “complicated”. Below is a very simple and basic guide to assist you in starting this wine journey – however the best way to familiarize yourself with many of these underrated wines is simply to taste them and hopefully enjoy them never forgetting that not only the grape but the region and terroir play a key role to what we finally taste in the glass.
